Subluxations, sometimes called Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), are misaligned spinal bones (vertebrae) that squeeze or pinch nerves. Subluxations interfere with the flow of nerve energy from the brain to the organs and tissues of the body. Subluxations can be excruciatingly painful or not painful at all. An example would be like having a wooden clothespin or a rubber band on our little finger. At first, there may not be any discomfort, but if we left the clothespin or the rubber band on the finger very long, it could get very uncomfortable and cause symptoms. These are just a few examples:

WHAT CAUSES SUBLUXATIONS

Trauma – Falls, blows, whiplash and strains
Poisons – Toxic shock from outside and inside the body including excessive intake of junk food and drink
Stress – Physical or emotional – causes the muscles to contract

WHAT SUBLUXATONS CAUSE

Subluxations cause symptoms. Spinal subluxations can interfere with the normal flow of nerve energy to the glandular, eliminative, nervous, digestive muscular and circulatory systems.

Let’s elaborate on one of these systems. The eliminative system is composed of the kidneys, bowels, skin, lungs and mucous membranes. We eliminate solid waste through the bowels and liquid waste through the kidneys, skin, lungs, mucous membranes and bowels (diarrhea).

If a spinal subluxation was present, it could impede the flow of nerve energy from the brain to the kidneys and/or the bowels. These organs would still work, but would work at a reduced capacity.

It is possible that the individual with such a subluxation would not even be aware of the reduced nerve energy flow from the brain to the kidneys and/or the bowels, especially if there wasn’t any pain.

If the bowels didn’t evacuate regularly the only symptom a patient might be aware of if they missed a day, would be an occasional headache.

And if the kidneys were not voiding sufficiently or were not filtering the blood properly, the patient may not be aware of the reduced function other than a slight build-up of fluids (edema) in the abdomen, feet, hands and face.

Problems that may occur because of prolonged reduced function of the bowels or kidneys due to spinal subluxations could be an overloading of the other eliminative organs – the skin lungs and mucous membranes.

As an example, years ago when we were all stuffed up and couldn’t breathe or we had allergies, our grandmothers used to give us enemas and or/hot toddies in the form of hot lemon water or hot chicken broth. This would help empty the bowels and flush the kidneys. The heat would help us by inducing a sweat so we would eliminate some of the excess waste through the skin. Grandmother was a pretty smart doctor! Some other symptoms that could manifest are sinusitis, gingivitis (gum disease), breathing problems, pneumonia, yeast infections, skin disorders, edema, high blood pressure, rheumatoid aches and pains, arthritis, loss of appetite, fatigue, irritability, nervousness, inability to concentrate, frequent colds, lowered immune system, headaches, depression, digestive problems, etc., etc.

The advertised approach to alleviating these symptoms is to take drugs for “temporary relief.” Pain is nature’s warning signal that something is wrong with our body. Taking drugs for temporary relief of our symptoms would be like putting earplugs in our ears so we can’t hear the annoying sound of the fire alarm! Besides, all drugs have the potential of producing serious side effects.

WHAT TO DO?

The very first things we want to do is begin reducing or removing the spinal subluxations to restore the normal flow of nerve energy from the brain to the organs involved that are causing symptoms.

Next, we will make certain recommendations concerning Nutrition, Exercise, Rest and Sanitation. One or more of the areas are almost always involved in human illness.

To aid in restoring the body back to normal function and health once a toxic state has been created within the body it is necessary, in addition to the spinal adjustment, to eliminate certain types of food and to do some physical exercise along with obeying the laws of sanitation and rest. If you are tired of treating your aches and pins for just “temporary relief”, call us – we want to help.
